It's been a long time
since we've had a regular monthly meeting (since October!).
We have these monthly meetings to give ourselves a
chance to get around others who are in the same boat as us – the Home Education
boat. True, we have different styles, curriculums and students, but we share the
same goal – to teach our children well. There is so much we can learn from each
other and so many ways we can encourage each other. I hope you can
come!
Kingdom Way
Homeschoolers Monthly Meeting
Monday, January 21st from 7-9 pm in
room 204
The Chapel – Wadsworth, 1391 State Road,
Wadsworth, OH
TOPIC: HOW DO YOU MEASURE
SUCCESS?
Traditionally in school, success is
measured by scores. In homeschooling, where character and attitude can matter as
much as academics, do we measure differently? I look forward to an interesting
discussion as we share how we evaluate and award our children for their hard
work.
If you have never been to one of our monthly meetings, here is what to
expect:
7:00 – 7:15 pm social time, get nametags, look at sign
ups
7:15 – 7:30 pm brief devotion related to homeschooling,
prayer
7:30 – 8:00 pm business – this is kept SHORT because we
try not to do anything that can be accomplished through the yahoo group. What we
will do is answer questions and discuss needed topics and new business.
8:00 – 8:45 pm topic/discussion/social. This varies month
to month, the purpose is to get encouraged in a specific area of homeschooling
life.
8:45 – 9:00 pm curriculum and resource share – we leave
some time at the end to share resources
* If you
did not pick up your directory at the Jay Wile meeting in November, I will have
them on Monday!
* Many of us head over to
Applebee's after the meeting for some additional social time...all are welcome!
(1/2 price appetizers!)
